That means customizing your treatment and rehabilitation program so you can return to your previous level of activity quickly and safely. Individual athletes' needs are as diverse as the sports they play. We meet those needs with a full spectrum of care. Whether you need medical evaluation, surgery and rehabilitation, or simply a conditioning routine for your specific sport, Vanderbilt Sports Medicine is fully staffed to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate all types of orthopaedic injuries. Likewise, as a patient in Sports Medicine, you have access to a full range of orthopaedic specialists in the department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Athletic injury evaluation

  • Knee and shoulder evaluation and treatment
  • Pediatric and adolescent injury assessment, ages 7-18
  • On-site radiology (X-Ray) services
  • Athletic rehabilitation; physical therapy and athletic training consultations
  • Injury prevention outreach and community speakers
  • Custom knee bracing and orthotics
  • On-site physical therapy for injuries
