Kurt Spindler, MD is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Vanderbilt University Medical School, Director of the Vanderbilt Sports Medicine Center, and serves as Head Team Physician for Vanderbilt University.


John E. (Jed) Kuhn, MD is an Associate Professor at Vanderbilt and Chief of Shoulder Surgery at Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. Dr. Kuhn's clinical interests include arthroscopic shoulder surgery, the evaluation and treatment of the athlete's shoulder, and methods of keeping the older athlete active.

Gene Hannah, MD is an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt. In caring for amateur and professional athletes, he combines evaluation, monitoring and non-surgical solutions with an emphasis on patient education, nutrition counseling, proper athletic form, medication and physical therapy.


Andrew Gregory, MD is an Assistant Professor Orthopaedics and Pediatrics as well as a Team Physician at Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities. He serves as the Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Warren Dunn, M.D., M.P.H.
is an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics as well as a Team Physician at Vanderbilt University. He functions as an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder injuries.


Paul Rummo, DO is an assistant Professor in Orthopaedics, working as a member of the sports medicine team and Hand Center as well as a team physician.

Dr. Warne Fitch completed a BS in Health and Exercise Science in
1997 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. He earned his
MD at Wake Forest University in 2001 and completed his emergency
medicine residency at Vanderbilt.
James Carey, M.D.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Carey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He is also a Team Physician at Belmont University and Vanderbilt University.


Charlie Cox, MD earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1998 and a MD degree in 2002 from University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 2007. Nine months of his residency was spent with Vanderbilt Orthopaedics after Hurricane Katrina. He is engaged to Joy Duong, an OB/GYN physician with Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He enjoys running, waterskiing and basketball.

Alex Diamond, DO
Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program are pleased to announce Alex Diamond, DO wil be continuing with us as our 2008-09 fellow. Dr. Diamond is a 2003 graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He will complete a pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA in June. He enjoys sports, photography, hiking and music.
Kristina Wilson MD
Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program are pleased to announce Kristina Wilson, MD as our 2008-09 fellow. Dr. Wilson is a 2005 graduate of University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV. She will complete a pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ in June. Dr. Wilson is married to a family practice physician who will be joining her in Nashville. She enjoys athletics, especially swimming and running, music, piano and clarinet.
